This month belong to one plus month, we have a brand new device, the OnePlus 8T.

I have the media kit in front of me, of course, this phone has been, I mean, there’s been leaks and rumors, we kind of know what it looks like kind of know what the specs are.

But this entire media kit is going to take us through those specifications and details.

So so OnePlus has a kind of extensive lineup going on right now when you add the OnePlus 8T to it, but there will be no 8T Pro.

So pricing is also going to be kind of interesting, the box ultra stops at nothing, OnePlus 8 Pro what a substantial, we look at the bottom side, got to cover it all.

I appreciate OnePlus commitment to the nice simple fonts in the rebrand.

And then we look to overcome the next and I guess that’s where we are here with the OnePlus 8T is 120Hz Fluid AMOLED Display warp charge 65 performance Snapdragon, likely probably quad-camera system.

All right, the OnePlus 8T phone and then some cases as well which is a much different take from one plus that is a wild case design very futuristic.

It’s like layered, it’s kind of hard to explain.

We have the teal color in there as well. So this one is called the OnePlus 8T quantum bumper case, Cyborg cyan, and then this one is the OnePlus 8T sandstone bumper case in cyan premium protection, durable fit, and unique design a special case is what they say.

I don’t know if we’re going to do a later case for the OnePlus 8T depends on demand.

Alright, so what does it say here at 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Aquamarine green is the color that I’ve got here.

Of course, we see the Snapdragon logo at this moment as well. We just simply peel down on this and get into the box.

OnePlus and their branding have become quite cohesive. It’s an experience they’ve put together and it matters to the end-user to the customer to be you know part of something to have a particular expectation and then to have that met OnePlus has matured quite a bit like a brand.

We pull that off at is revealed on the side as well. The new OnePlus 8T logo here. This is going to be your paperwork and an invitation letter.

The OnePlus 8T android Mobile is more than a phone.

Wow, like, get deep on it. The SIM card tool is there as well. We have a quick start guide, highest essay our value card. Here is the device, I will peel that out. And would you look at that they called this Aquamarine?

The case was Cyan. I mean, they’re kind of close, I guess Aquamarine is a little bit lighter. In the teal territory. The camera module is quite a big departure from their other models.

There is the Nord camera module, of course, we have the OnePlus 8 pro camera module in the center.

And that one was very similar to the standard OnePlus 8 as well.

This is quite a bit different over in the corner.

Also inside the package, we have a classic OnePlus charging cable USB type C to C with the cable management baked in.

It’s a robust cable, it’s got the red coloring, it’s a little thicker than usual. Also in the package, you find your warp charger a very important key component with 65 watts of power.

A kind of appreciate just how curved off the edges of this thing are. I mean, you could have just done a standard brick.

But if you did have to pocket this thing, I mean these would poke you but the attention to curve all the sides.

120-hertz refresh this is while I’ve talked about this in the past, it just gives it such a snappy type of feelings such a fast type of feeling, it feels like you’re interacting with your content more directly.

Again, this is a type of thing that’s hard to tell you in this blog, and you kind of need to experience it.

But of course, we have 120 hertz in there which is in line with the flagship model with the OnePlus 8 pro warp charge 65.

OnePlus 8T has Snapdragon 865. This one is 12 gigs of RAM with 256 storage.

I am talking about flagship specifications here. You can see the indication of in-display fingerprint as well. This is a flashy color.

How does it differ from the Nord, it’s a little bit greener, I guess that’s where the Aquamarine gets in there. And it’s slightly less reflective, it’s an I don’t know how to how to describe it, it’s a little more powdery, possibly more premium,

This has a little more color shift to it as well. Depending on the angle of reflection, you’re either having a little more green or a little more blue Aquamarine is the right title.

Here you can see the camera module up top. we have three lenses on the left-hand side, one more camera there, and a couple of flash units as well.

Over here we have the classic OnePlus with a textured button for quickly shifting between different modes. For sound and vibration, we have our power switch below there.

Over on the other side is your volume rocker. And then the rest is down below where you have your USB type C connector, your SIM card tray, and your speaker unit.

When you look at the front of the device, you see a tiny little hole punch in the top left corner, which is reminiscent of the other models including the OnePlus 8 pro and also the OnePlus 8.

Some people are big fans of that because there’s kind of a premium feel to it with the glass extending beyond the side of the device.

But there’s also been a push with certain models to get a more flat edge because I don’t know some people claim to have unintended presses on the side of the device or not have enough room to grip.

This is a bit more traditional. It’s a pretty flat display on there. Something I do appreciate though is the attempt at complete symmetry on the bezel and I don’t know how much that shows up to you.

But it’s fairly symmetrical. I think the chin is maybe ever so slightly larger than the forehead but it’s a close frame the whole way around.

OnePlus 8T Lock Module

Alright, let’s go ahead and sign up for the fingerprint, it’s in the display. I’m curious how fast it’s going to be.

When I’m using these devices with multiple unlock methods, I will typically register the fingerprint as well as the face for face unlock.

And depending on the circumstance, I would then unlock which with whichever is more convenient.

This ships with a screen protector out of the box, I’m going to go ahead and remove it just because I’m kind of particular about these flimsy screen protectors if I’m going to do a screen protector, I usually want like tempered glass or something like that.

OnePlus 8T Battery

I’m just gonna take that off the box you got to appreciate there’s a certain confidence that comes with that because this does tend to drain the battery life of 4500 mAh in here.

It’s not the largest battery but it’s big.

And it appears to be enough to give you the ultra-smooth high refresh because they’re confident enough to enable that out of the box OnePlus knows the type of users it’s marketing to and they just enable it straight out the box.

I noticed that even in the setup, there are some other options here for screen calibration, how you want the colors to look vivid natural, and so forth.

And the front camera display area this is a nice little touch as well if for whatever reason you don’t like the hole punch look, you can turn this on and just blackout a top but the problem there is then you push your notification down so you lose some screen real estate.

OnePlus 8T spec options for the device pretty much everything’s the same except for the ram that you choose is either going to be 8 GB or 12 GB and the storage you choose whether it’s 128 or 256 Gb.

You can see Snapdragon 865 Android 11 in two colors, by the way, Aquamarine green that’s what we have over here, and lunar silver it’s got Gorilla Glass 3d Corning Gorilla Glass 188 grams.

 it’s a fairly light phone considering it’s a flagship dual stereo speakers Dolby Atmos I’ll test that out in a moment.

OnePlus 8T Screen Display

OnePlus 8T screen display is 6.55 inches 2400 by 1084 PPI a 402 It’s a 20 by nine aspect ratio fluid Amylin sunny aspect ratio for video recording up to 4k at 60 frames.

OnePlus 8T appears to have three different settings for focal length. There’s a wide there’s a standard and there’s zoom.

I’m curious about the color temperature here and into the zoom. I love how it maintained color temperature across the cameras with very little shift in the main camera units.

Well, it knocked that out of the park, the ultra-wide, that is quite a wide field of view.

we have a little bit of zoom there as well, which looks to be useful, can pick up like the text on the headphones over their video resolution. default is 1080 P over here at 30 frames to keep the file size down.

I’m gonna Of course go up to something more substantial. What do you think Kurt? 4k semi 60 FPS.

That sounds aggressive. that’s what we’ll pick. It also has slow motion at 1080 p 240. Or 720 p 480. Lots of resolution coming right up with 60 frames.

Of course, 4k resolution, they call it 70. I can scan over here and catch a look at myself as well.

And then there’s the audio aspect, which is you’re listening to me through the microphone on the OnePlus 8T Camera Module.

And also I can shift my focal length within the video recording. And just zoom in here. So there’s two x, and up.

That’s quite a bit of zoom and back out.

That’s pretty wild, pretty much the same as a phone. And of course, increasingly, there’s a movement towards these wider aspect ratios because people are watching content on their phone.

So you get that Sydney looks to it. They say that it’s stereo speakers we’ve got going on.

So first up, I’m gonna look up some loo later to test some dialogue. this is what I was talking about.

By the way, with the bottom corner hole punch. I’ve mentioned it many times, but it just about having it in the middle.

I know they said it has Dolby Atmos on it, but I’m not sure if it’s enabled by default. Oh, it is it’s in dynamic mode. iPhone day coming up.

Hmm. I love how fear leaker you have a track record with accuracy, which is similar to a professional athlete.

That’s what I like is it’s a fairly balanced distribution of sound from the bottom speaker and the earpiece section so it’s gonna be tough to cover it up. She likes moved to the earpiece, by block by block over here and no problem. I’ve heard louder, but acceptable. Now if I do play some music.

I think you’re gonna be satisfied with the speakers.

OnePlus 8T Wrap Charge

I want to see the charge animation. I need to see a fancy charge animation. Bang. Bang. I mean, I hope they have a fancy charge animation. They normally have a fancy charge animation, right? Wait.

Yeah, warp charge. I’m gonna be the ability to watch it clock up in real-time gets me every gets me going.

Get Oh, lovely. Look at it go. I just, I’ll never get enough.

Oh, yeah, the fingerprint as well. We should test that out.

That’s a quick one. She’s a quick one. I’ll take it. Some of the more budget-minded phones tend to lag a touch right there. I don’t know how much of it is the hardware implementation or how much of it is the chipset that’s inside of the OnePlus 8T and what kind of speed is necessary but look at that.

I mean, that’s I could get used to that. Also notice by default, the OnePlus 8T has left the assistant button right there google assistant and dead center.

One of the things I like about how the OnePlus manages the OS, they don’t go crazy with it. They don’t try to overhaul Android, they just you know, it’s a few touches and a few customization options.

I can just quickly go in here, change the accent colors. It’s stuff I would use from a customization perspective. I can also change the fingerprint animation, lock face, add the face data.

Oh, by the way, it also warns you in that it says like look, this is not the most secure version of our lock. So just keep that in mind. says it’s got it this setting. I also love auto-unlock, as opposed to requiring a second step.

WoW, the OnePlus 8T is too fast. I mean, I missed that experience, I missed the speed of the face unlock the things they do in software, it’s some small tweaks, of course, you can take it further, you can turn off animations altogether, inside of I mean, it’s all in the default settings, you could do that.

I mean, you could do that on a lot of phones, but they just kind of encourage you to do it. And by default, limit the amount of lag inside of the software, which I appreciate.

Now, there’s also a gamespace button here. And it’s going to allow you to set up all the specific settings that you would have while you’re gaming, disable notifications, improve performance, CPU optimization, GPU optimization, etc.

Yes, of course, it’s a Snapdragon 865 you can game on here.

Yeah, the OnePlus 8T a nice gaming phone very comfy, very loud. that the audio there is a different level in-game.

It’s optimized, it appears but yeah, that test the speakers a little better.

I’m even more impressed now with the New OnePlus 8T.

Alright, so there is the OnePlus 8T Is it a return to the roots for OnePlus, I can say it could be they went super-premium.

They’re like, Nope, it’s just the great OnePlus 8T.

It’s got the features I think people are going to care about.
