How do we improve our communication skills?
1.Think about a bicycle wheel

In the middle, you have a hub (the current topic) and around that hub, you’ve got spokes (other topics) that radiate out.
Realize that every topic has multiple spokes that are related that you can talk about.
Example (hub): Halloween
Related topics (spokes): horror movies, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Candy, costumes and, trick or treating.
Two other useful skills to be better at conversions:

2. Ask open questions to Improve Communication Skills
Uncountable open queries start with how, what, and why.
“How did you wind up being an engineer?”

“Why move to New York?”
“What did you do a few days ago?”
Open questions beg a deeper explanation of Communication Skills …and give you ample opportunities to find those glorious spokes.
Picture yourself as a late-night talk show host, and this person is on your couch. Not a formal interview, but a good-natured back and forth.

3. Bring a shovel
Huh?!
When you find something emotionally provocative in another individual.
(Maybe they’re passionate about volunteering, for instance)

You’ll notice their voice becomes more animated, they may make more hand gestures, you’ll feel it.
Then dig!
They’re passionate about Communication Skills! I would love to exchange more about it!
Try to find the “why” behind the “what”.
How? Open questions, of course.
You’ll both leave that conversation feeling like you made a great connection.
Bonus tip #1: Come slightly prepared
Before you head out and you know you’ll be starting conversations all day, browse trending stories on social media for informal fodder.
(Just remember: keep it light. No talking about how this country is going to hell in a handbasket…people will start running for an exit.)

Bonus tip #2: The spotlight isn’t really on you
There’s this jolt of an idea called the courtesy effect. In brief, we incline to place more implications on ourselves in any given social situation.
This blocks us from having a great conversation to improve Communication Skills.
If we put ketchup on our shirt, we’re sure that not only did everybody notice, but they are live-tweeting about it as well.

The silver liner? Most people think too much of themselves about caring for your stained shirt.
I hope this short article helps you to advance your Communication Skills.
