Qualcomm has introduced Quick Charge 5
Phone with Quick Charge 5 100W charging rapidity and full charging in only 15 minutes
Qualcomm has introduced Quick Charge 5, the company’s fastest charging standard, and it is bringing some big promises: charging speeds over 100W on a smartphone, which can charge a device in five minutes. Ability to charge from 0 to 50% or fully charge. Willfully charge the phone in 15 minutes.
Qualcomm introduced its last major charge standard
Qualcomm introduced its last major charge standard, the Fast Charge 4 (which also had an improved version, Fast Charge 4+), it’s been a few years, but the new version represents the biggest leap yet for the company. At least as far as sheer charging speed is anxious, Qualcomm is not embarrassed about how much of an improvement this is. Despite running more than 10 degrees Celsius cooler like an older version.
As Anandtech notes, Fast Charge 5 is actually attractive advantage of the current USB power delivery program capable power supply (PD-PPS) standard (a subset of current USB-C PD style), during which voltage and current levels Allow to gain even more control. The charging process has the advantage that Quick Charge 5 is, in theory, universal – any USB PD-PPS charger should be able to charge your Quick Charge 5 device rapidly.
Another important change here is the fact that Quick Charge 5 now supports a 2S battery system for two wired battery cells in the series, which allows the charging voltage to be doubled. As a result, the charging speed increases.
It’s also backward well-matched Older Fast Charge accessories and devices will still work with the new Quick Charge 5 valued hardware, while these chargers can bring at their quicker speeds (on the other hand USB-C PD devices and iPhones now Will also get the benefits of charging Quick Charge 4 and above based on USB PD only)
This has the greatest benefit of all: the detail that Quick Charge 5 is part of Qualcomm’s package of aggregates. Qualcomm is now one of the largest processors and modem dealers, and many companies use their own power solutions to easily adapt their existing solutions – which means that Quick Charge 5 is potentially possible. Tin will start popping up on the phone when the first devices start shipping. Q3 2020.
