Why it’s important to have an Android phone backed up and having it stored in Google Cloud can have many benefits, such as making it easier to restore data on the phone if the phone is stolen, lost or broken.

Even if you haven’t upgraded your Google Account, you can still benefit from 15 GB of storage on Google One, which is considered a reasonable storage capacity on Google One for the average user. (while that can fluctuate somewhat, conditional on what other facilities/accounts you have).
Saving data on Google One Drive with Android phone
Yes, you do not need to install a separate application to save phone data of Android phone on Google 1 Drive, just go to your phone settings and start using Google 1 Drive easily and this way you can save your data without any difficulty.
Note: The Android phone settings of different companies may also vary. This is the method commonly used on Android phones. This way you can save your data to Google 1 Drive. Other companies’ phone settings may be different from what I’ve already written.
Go to Setup> System> Backup Toggle backup in the Google 1 Drive.
Just below the toggle, you will see the account in which your phone is routinely backed up. If you have several Google accounts, and you have extra storage space in one of them, you may want to change to this account.
- This allows you to check how long ago the last backup was made. You can start the backup manually by pressing the backup button
- When you’ve backed up your app history, etc. via the Android “back up to Google Drive” feature, you’re covered if you need to switch to a new phone or had to wipe your current one. Once you log in, you’ll be prompted to restore it all.
- When your phone has back up history, etc. via the Android “Backup Google Drive” feature, you are shielded if you want to switch to a new phone or wipe your existing phone. Once logged in, you will be prompted to restore all your data from Google 1 Drive.
- If you need Google 1 to back up your photos, apps, and videos, you can configure it too.
Look for and tap on Google Photos, which is listed under Photos & videos.
Find the tap of Google Photos,
Which will be in the list of photos and videos.
Turn on Back up & synchronization
This will provide you with unlimited backup for what Google calls full-resolution photos and videos. In other words, they are not in the original resolution but are somewhat compressed. If you want to back up your photos in their original resolution, you can do that via the Google One storage plan, which is now available to Gmail users even if they don’t subscribe to a paid plan.

BACK UP on Google 1 drive
If you are using an Android phone, the free version of the Google One service will back up device data, multimedia messages, and photos/videos in their original quality (as opposed to the compressed format backed up in Google Photos).
If you’re using a phone which has an android system, A free version of the Google 1 service will back up the device’s data, contact list, multimedia messages, and photos will back up(the videos & photos to their original value).
Install & open the Google 1 drive app.
- You should see a page that says Storage and more with Google One. If the feature hasn’t rolled around to your phone yet, all you’ll see is an offer to upgrade to paid storage. Try again in a day or two.
- You should see a page that explains, Storage with Google 1 drive app & a few more features. If this feature isn’t rolling out on your phone yet, pay for everything you see. Upgraded storage is offered. Please try again after one/two days.
Press the Setup Data Backup Read button.
You can choose which data to back up, with device data, multimedia messages, and photos/videos to their same quality once you back up your data via Google One You can simply access it through this app.
Press the storage button at the top of the app screen. You will be asked how much free storage you have used, how much is leftover, and what you have used it for.
- Scroll down to check other information and see when was the last time you backed up your phone. If an automatic backup is turned off, you can immediately start a backup manually and upload your important data on the Google One Drive immediately.
- If you want to restore data from your backup, you can restore the phone by date by pressing the Restore button.
- Select which data you want to restore.
